The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is the world's first national-level expo themed on imports. It is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, and organized by the China International Import Expo Bureau and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
Since its inception in 2018, the CIIE has been held annually in Shanghai, building a platform for international procurement, investment promotion, cultural exchange, and open cooperation through three main sections: the National Exhibition, the Enterprise Business Exhibition, and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum.
By 2025, the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will cover an exhibition area of over 430,000 square meters, attracting participation from 155 countries and international organizations. The enterprise exhibition will feature 4,108 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions, including 290 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders, both setting new records for exhibition area and total number of exhibitors.
Notably, the United States has maintained the largest exhibition area for seven consecutive years. The first seven CIIE have accumulated over US$500 billion in intended transaction volume, showcasing over 3,000 new products, technologies, and services, and attracting 23,000 overseas exhibitors.
